Pipeline Refurbishment
Requirements:
The scope called for a pipe protective coating system with outstanding chemical resistance and high abrasive resistance when backfilled.
Solution:
The pipe was abrasive blasted to SP 5 / NACE No.2 near white blast and coated with Chemclad – an epoxy with outstanding chemical resistance. The pipe joins were reinforced with the Denso Tape system to provide a high level of corrosion resistance. The finished coating / tape system was then protected with Denso Rockmesh prior to backfilling.

An expanded high density polyethylene mesh designed to give extra mechanical protection to pipe coatings laid in rough/rocky ground or abrasive backfill.
